This sightseeing helicopter flight will allow you to explore five Cycladic islands in one day. After departing from the base in Mykonos you will head to Koufonissia and island which is famous for its exotic charm. Koufonissia is made up of two isles which have been inhabited since prehistoric times and were centers of the Cycladic Civilazation. The two isles, Ano and Kato Koufonissi are part of the Natura 2000 Network of natural habitats and feature a varied coastline of soft limestone that has been eroded by the sea and the rain, making impressive geological formations. From the comfort of your helicopter seat you will get a bird’s eye view of Chora, the island’s only official settlement, a typical Cycladic fishing village with whitewashed houses and picturesque passages around the port.
Next you will visit the island of Schinoussa which is tucked away between the isles of Iraklia and Koufonissia, off the southeastern coast of Naxos which promises its visitors unique experiences in the surrounding expanse of turquoise and deep blue waters, romantic sunsets, exciting hiking trails and unforgettable gastronomic highlights. The island has no public transport facilities, which ads to its picturesque character.
During this scenic flight you will fly over the island of Iraklia, which features an impressive mountain massif and excellent beaches. Iraklia is the largest yet one of the least populated islands of the small Cyclades. The island’s beaches cater to all tastes and endowed with a wonderful seabed, with a rich marine life, Iraklia offers great opportunities for diving. Amalia bay has an additional attraction, that of a German reconnaissance plane that sank during World War II at a depth of 9m and is visible from the surface.
The final destination is Naxos: The Portara or the door to nowhere, a giant ancient marble door frame centered on its own islet, is a sight to see from land. Imagine what it looks like from above. Naxos is dotted with some of the most beautiful villages in the country and lined with sandy long stretches of beaches.
