Taking off from the Chania Airport this 45-minute helicopter tour will fly you over the historic city of Chania, where you will get to experience its romantic character, the Medieval architecture, crossing over its famous Venetian port. Next you will pass Agia Marina, which is the largest tourist resort of Western Crete, built along a beautiful sandy beach.
You will also get to experience the stunning views of the Omalos Plateau from above. The Omalos Plateau is situated 38 kilometers south of Chania in the Lefka Ori (White Mountains) that occupy a large part of the centre of West Crete and are the main feature of the region. From your helicopter seat you will get a unique perspective of the Samaria Gorge which is a major tourist attraction of the island and a World’s Biosphere Reserve. The gorge was created by a small river running between the White Mountains (Lefka Ori) and Mt. Volakias. Today visitors are recommended to complete the walk down the gorge from the Omalos plateau to Agia Roumeli.
Heading over the South Coast you will fly above the small picturesque village of Loutro which was named after the baths (Loutro or Loutra) found in the area. The village has maintained its traditional character as it remains untouched by mass tourism. There is no road that leads here so the only way one can get here is by a ferry boat or a helicopter.
